Room 3

This term, Year 5/6 have been researching different countries around the world. Each student has been allocated a country from geographical regions of the world, and we have created infographics about the culture, food, fashion, government and history of our countries. Here are some of our infographics and favourite facts that we have learned along the way.

Did you know….

Turkey is very hospitable and they don’t let their guest leave until they’ve had something to eat and drink.

Famous actress Audrey Hepburn was born in Brussels, Belgium.

Trinidad and Tobago is a constitutional monarchy, just like Australia and they competed alongside us in the Commonwealth Games.

Greece has a Mediterranean climate, just like Perth.

Honduras was the first country to ban smoking in their houses.

Ireland is called the nation of storytellers because the Celtic people used to recite their history and many Nobel Prize winners for literature have come from Ireland.

Bunnings Incursion

This fortnight, rooms 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 were lucky enough to participate in a Father's Day Bunnings Workshop. They worked with real hammers, nails, and wood to build an amazing present for a special man in their lives. The library became very noisy as our Year 1 students built a screwdriver holder and the Year 2 and 3 students built a pencil box. Our students thoroughly enjoyed hammering together their creations and look forward to decorating them back in class to finish them off and make them perfect! A big thank you to Brodie from Bunnings and our amazing parent helpers who volunteered their time.

eSafety Commissioner

We encourage all parents to have conversations at home with their children regarding screen time and how to be safe whilst online. From time to time, we highlight the eSafety Commissioner Website as an official source of information that you mind find useful when navigating any conversations you have.

Currently, there is a very helpful page with videos for you to watch with advice and further information.
