Kathy Cvitkovic - Principal

What is the best thing about working at Kismet Park?

There are so many ‘best things’ about working at Kismet Park!

I have to say the children and the sense of community spirit are on top of my list. I constantly pinch myself as I walk around our school to remind myself that I am not dreaming.

Do you have a favourite author/book? Why is it your favourite?

My favourite author is Roald Dahl. I still remember reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when I was in grade 3 and just thinking WOW!

I just love the way this author writes, he likes to twist and invent words and play around with the sentence structure to get words to sound exactly as they are written in an attempt to immerse the reader in the story. I love the way he uses poetry, similes, metaphors, alliteration, and puns that entices the reader and adds to his writing.

What are your hobbies?

 I love to dance, walk, and read.

I love spending time with my family and friends and cooking. When I get a chance I love to cook traditional Croatian food as my parents were both of Croatian heritage and my mother was an excellent cook. I can say that my family looks forward to the times I whip up a traditional sarma (cabbage rolls with mince pork!)

If you could only eat 1 meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would have to be pita; this is pastry with different fillings but my favourite is pita with potato filling. I love my carbohydrates!

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

I would love Wonder Woman’s gift of increased insight and her strength and agility.

What is the best thing about working at Kismet Park?

The staff are all friendly and great to work with and the students are pretty cool too.

Do you have a favourite author/book? Why is it your favourite?

My favourite book to read to students is I am Jack by Susanne Gervay. I think it inspires people to stand up for themselves and overcome bullies.

What are your hobbies?

I love netball, shopping and renovating and designing my house

If you could only eat 1 meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Chicken Parma or Spaghetti or Lasagna

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have? 

To stop and restart time
