Prefect Conference 2022

This week, the 2022 Prefect Conference involved all newly-elected Year 11 Prefects. Students were given the opportunity to develop skills, teamwork and school values in preparation for the coming term of office.

Students hosted a celebratory lunch for the outgoing Year 12 leaders and mingled with the outgoing junior leaders, enjoying pizza and handing out certificates to recognise the contributions made by these leaders in the last term of office. They also took part in a Panel of Experts, hearing from the existing prefects and Senior Leadership Council to acquire a deeper understanding of what leadership will entail for them as leaders of a large school.

The students were addressed by speakers such as Mr Chand (Principal), Mrs Dixon (KSP Coordinator), Lucy Dahill (Student Support Officer) and Ms Williams (Prefect Coordinator), and they refined their understanding of their roles, responsibilities and codes of conduct.

Students began planning for the 2022 Leadership Conference and worked collaboratively to schedule the 2023 mufti-days, to begin mapping out their initiatives, and they conducted qualitative analysis of survey data to distil key areas for improvement across the school.

The students finished the conference with a walk to the Killara Bowling Club, where they socialised and built connections that will serve them well into their term of office. We congratulate the group on their outstanding contribution and effort - we cannot wait to see what they achieve.
