Deputy Principal's Report

Years 8, 10 & 12

Year 12

We are well on our way through our Winter Term, we have had lots of activities and events and have really enjoyed getting back to a little normality. I would like to thank all our parents and caregivers who attended our Parent Teacher Night on the 27 July. It was so lovely to see lots of our families who we have not seen for ages.

On Friday 12 August myself, Mr Backhouse and Mrs Cortaville-Smith accompanied Mrs Jay Blue to the Australian Teaching Awards in Sydney. It was a wonderful night, and we were very proud of Mrs Blue’s nomination.

Our Year 12 students have just completed their Trial HSC examinations and are presently receiving their results, feedback, and ranks. A big congratulations to Year 12 for their wonderful behaviour, application and diligence throughout the exam period. We all encourage Year 12 to focus now on the HSC exams and to take on board all assistance and work together to reach their personal best.

Important up-coming-dates:

The last day for Year 12 - 2022 is Wednesday 21 September - Celebration Day. The organisation for the morning activities will be distributed shortly. Year 12 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Thursday 22 September. We look forward to working with Year 12 in their final weeks of school.

Year 10 in 2020 have been working through the transition program for Stage 6. They have all completed their interview process whereby they have worked through their patterns for next year. They will have an opportunity to work through their Year 11 timetable during the Stage 6 Preparation Program.

The completion of all outstanding tasks is an essential part of the curriculum requirements for their grades and completion of the NESA, RoSA credential. All students with N Awards in Year 10 are reminded that they must all be completed by the end of Term.

Year 8 completed RIOT (Resilience in Our Teens) training on Monday 29 August. They had a great time and hopefully learnt a lot. We are looking forward to continued training in this area. A big thanks to Mr Newton for organising the first training day.
