Congratulations to Bradley (Year 9) who received third place!
Last Friday evening, Bradley competed confidently in the Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award Competition against six other state finalists. He had spent many weeks preparing and polishing a five-minute speech titled 'Rally to our King'.
Bradley spoke of John Wesley's quote “Light yourself on fire with passion and people will come from miles to watch you burn.” Bradley challenged the audience to identify; What was igniting them? and, What are they passionate about?
He successfully weaved the story of the courage that was shown by WW2 veteran, Lieutenant Sir Roden Cutler, into his speech. Well done Bradley on your great result!
Congratulations to all of our teams on their Round 5 results:
Congratulations to the Speaker of the Night winners for Round 5: Ariana (Year 10), Caleb (Year 9), Annie (Year 6), and Monique (Year 6).

Thank You Coaches!
A huge thank you to our fabulous coaches for their time and commitment to our students who grew in their confidence in public speaking and preparing strong arguments in our 2022 season! These include Richard Heath, Max Dal Santo, Andy Malcolm, Neven Daoud, Jude Potter, Sarah Greiger, Ryan Milne, Nigel Eaton, and especially Carolyn Hull.
Carolyn has worked tirelessly over the last 10 years developing the debating skill set of over 300 students during that time. Her wisdom, insight and experience will be greatly missed.
Each debate requires hours of preparation in sourcing arguments and ensuring that extensive research has taken place so that our students are fully equipped to articulate their arguments succinctly and confidently. Carolyn has provided a wealth of expertise in this area.
We thank you, Carolyn, sincerely for your tireless efforts in supporting and training our students.
Kind regards
