Principal's Report

PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Parent/Teacher interviews will be held at the end of term on Thursday, 15th September (4.30pm-7.30pm) and also on Friday, 16th September (10.00am – 1.00 pm). I encourage all parents/carers to attend with their student on either Thursday or Friday. Bookings may be made through the Compass portal. There will be no timetabled classes on Friday as students are expected to attend the interviews with their parents/carers.
YEAR 12 PREPARATIONS
Many of our staff members are working extremely hard in preparing our Year 12 students for their VCE Exams, the Year 12 Graduation events, and also for life after leaving Secondary school. An annual highlight of the year is the Year 12 Graduation Assembly, and the assembly for parents.
SHEPPARTON EDUCATION PLAN
As the merging of the four secondary colleges rapidly approaches, there are so many things to get done before day 1 2020. All of the staff have been working extremely hard to ensure that the start is as smooth as it can possibly be. The most recent visit of the Minister of Education James Merlino unveiled the fly-through of the site. It can be viewed from the link on our website or through the message that was sent out via Compass last week. It is exciting to think that this is scheduled for completion in 2021.
Earlier in the year, the support for bus transport was announced. To ensure that you are able to be allocated a place on the bus system for the start of the year, it is essential that you read and act on the message below.

BUS TRAVEL APPLICATION FORMS
A reminder to all parents and carers regarding completion of bus travel application forms for students at Greater Shepparton College (interim name) next year.
If you are planning to utilise student bus travel next year, a bus travel application form for your child/ren must be fully completed, and returned to either your current secondary school (or to McGuire campus if your child is commencing in Year 7 next year). If a completed bus travel application form is not received for your child prior to the end of Term 3, we will assume that you do not require bus travel for your child next year.
If your child has been a regular student bus traveller in the past or currently, you still need to complete the form so that we have up to date information about all student bus travellers for 2020 please.
Information about bus travel, including worked examples of completed forms, is available from the Greater Shepparton College (interim name) school website:
https://www.greatersheppartoncollege.vic.edu.au/college-life/transport
Information regarding student bus allocations for 2020 will be made available during Term 4, 2019.
The holidays begin next week. I hope that all students and staff are able to refresh themselves ready to energetically tackle term 4. To the Year 12 students, I hope that you are able to balance your study with your relaxation time to ensure that you can perform at your best in the examination period.
Regards
Steve (on behalf of the leadership team)
Production
I am very much looking forward to seeing the Greater Shepparton College (interim name) production of ’13 - The Musical’.
The very enthusiastic Year 7's from across McGuire, Mooroopna, Shepparton and Wanganui Campuses have teamed with experienced VCE Theatre Studies students, to interpret Jason Robert Brown’s touching and hilarious rock musical, ‘13’
Two shows only: Thursday October 31st 7:30 pm or Friday 1st November, 7:30pm at Westside Performing Arts Centre.
