Year 6 Showcase

Look what's been happening in Year 6

We are so proud of the Year Six students for their continued engagement and hard work during Remote Learning.  Please see some examples of their amazing efforts below.

Writing

Students have blown us away with their research, writing and creativity while producing their information reports this term. Students chose a subject they were passionate about and experimented with sizzling starters, subheadings, topic sentences, facts, technical language, glossaries, bibliographies, graphs, timelines, diagrams and more. We are very proud of their achievements!

Reading

This term, the students have been creating some outstanding presentations about different authors and books. They have all produced an Author Study presentation with interesting facts about their chosen author and had the opportunity to peer assess a classmates work. We are looking forward to the next steps of the assignment which include two book reviews and some creative tasks.

Maths

As part of our Money and Financial Maths Unit, students were asked to design their own Mini Golf Hole and develop a financial plan, looking at all of the costs associated with their design. Students were required to meet certain design conditions and work under a budget.

Business and Economics

Our Year Six students will certainly make amazing future business owners with the work they have completed so far on their Business Bake Off assignments. We have loved seeing their creative recipe pages and can’t wait to sample the delicious goodies! The students have worked hard on their business budgets and calculated profits and the daily costs of running their business.

Wellbeing

During this challenging time, we understand the importance of well being and displaying gratitude and resilience. The students have enjoyed engaging in various activities through the Resilience Project at Home Hub and were given the chance to step back from the screens and focus on how they were feeling. They have also enjoyed completing various optional activities such as make your own pizza, pancakes and craft projects.
