Celebrating what's happening in Art!

Term 3 highlights!

We have had a busy term designing, creating and making in Visual Arts.

All grade levels have been inspired by the works of artists and topics to create and develop their art works.

Students have enjoyed sharing their works in our Webex meetings. It has given them the opportunity to contribute to class discussions, clarify questions and celebrate their works and achievements.

Here are some of the wonderful works students have produced and been engaged in throughout the term!

Foundation - This term students explored the art element of lines through a series of artworks. They had the opportunity to investigate the types of lines found in the natural environment and within the art works of sculptor Mark di Suvero. As part of this unit of work, students created colourful hair portraits, made 3D paper sculptures and paper weaving art pieces. Students also completed an imaginative response to author Peter Reynolds', 'The Dot.'

Level 1 & 2. This term students created their unique ‘Monsters of Creativity’ paper art pieces, inspired by street artist Vedda.  Students studied the works and style of the artist Dean Russo. They drew their expressive ‘Tiger’ pictures focusing on blending and coloring techniques.  As part of the unit of work on paper sculpture, students explored a variety of paper techniques and skills, creating amazing sculptural models.
