We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to our carols evening on Thursday 12th December. Commencing at 5.30pm, students will be performing on the BRPS stage (starting with Foundation) and there will be a special visit from Santa!
BYO chairs, picnic rugs and blanket! Full program released next week.
Step-up/Meet your Teacher
State-wide transition day for government schools is held on Tuesday, 10th December 2019. Year 7 students enroled in government schools attend their secondary college on this day.
At BRPS, 2020 Year 1-6 students will participate in a ‘step-up’ program. Students will participate in a fun and engaging session with the current teachers in their next year level (this is not a meet the teacher day). They will develop an understanding of the special events, opportunities and learning activities that they can expect in 2020.
Meet the Teacher
To allow staffing to be finalised and all 2020 teachers to be present, students will meet their 2020 teacher and new classmates on Thursday 19th December. This year, a notice will be sent home with each individual child on Monday 16th December (the same day that reports are published to compass) including information about their 2020 teacher and year level team/ leaders etc.
A detailed timeline of this process will be sent to all families via a separate Compass item.
House Rewards Day
Congratulations to Gold House who were the winners of the inaugural House Rewards Day. Gold House students from F-6 enjoyed a sensational day full of activities such as the Silent Disco, the Amazing Race and a sausage sizzle lunch! Thank you to Mr Muller who organised the day and for all of his work this year to enhance House Spirit across the school.
2020 Enrolments, Staffing and Class Structure
2020 staffing arrangements are still being finalised and will now be announced via Compass NewsFeed prior to the end of next week.
All year levels will be remaining in their current locations, with class structure as follows:
- Foundation 5 classes
- Year 1 4 classes
- Year 2 4 classes
- Year 3 4 classes
- Year 4 4 classes
- Year 5 4 classes
- Year 6 3 classes
Giving Tree
Each year the Black Rock PS community donates generously to our Giving Tree on behalf of Family Life Victoria. The gifts received from our community are gratefully received and go a long way towards making the festive season a little better for those who find themselves in a less fortunate position than ourselves.
A representative from Family Life will be attending the school assembly on Monday December 16th to accept these gifts.
President's Cup Golf
Community Information
All families are reminded to please check your Compass News Feed for detailed information about this event taking place at the adjoining Royal Melbourne Golf Course all through next week.
Have a fantastic fortnight everyone.
