Year 8 Camp Lake Dewar

A chilly but positive start for our Dunlop and Freeman Year 8 Students on their camp experience at Lake Dewar YMCA.

The students braved the conditions and some even hit the water with a range of activities, including Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Hiking, and the Amazing Race!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lake Dewar this year. There was a wide range of activities that were engaging for everyone. Some activates we did were mountain biking, kayaking and paddle boarding. Although, I particularly enjoyed the Gorge walk, flying fox and adventure tunnelling. The Werribee Gorge track included a beautiful hike from the crest of a hill that winded down to a serene lake below. Just above this track was a 250m flying fox that had a breathtaking view of scenery. The adventure tunnelling was quite different to the other activities, it involved working together as a team to go through an escape like room with lots of fun obstacles to overcome. Overall, it was a great experience, the cabins were spacious and cosy, there was a substantial amount of free time, and it was a great bonding opportunity with my school mates.
