Personal skipping Journal
By participating in Jump Rope for Heart, we are expecting to get our students moving. We will have ropes available on the school grounds and we are encouraging everyone to help raise funds for lifesaving research and support programs. Please encourage extra skipping at home. This promotes both physical and mental wellbeing. We are looking forward to seeing some awesome skipping, maybe even some new tricks.
During the weeks of the program, your child will learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. The program will end with our school wide ‘Jump Off Day’ on Friay 9th June, 2023 where your child gets to show off their new skipping skills to their friends.
On Monday, St Edward's participated in the Gary McSweeney Cup. Although our team was not successful, it was an honour and privilege to play in the Trials.
All students played so well and embraced the opportunity to be active in the sunshine. Gary was always a huge advocate for kids sport, at every level, and I know he would have been so proud to have today in his honour.
Gabby Hunt and Martha Ferris have had a hockey filled week, starting Monday with training, followed by an action packed week of back to back games. The girls are playing in the NSWCPS Polding Team at the NSWPSSA Hockey Championships being held here in Tamworth.
Congratulations to the following boys who made the Tamworth Representative Cricket sides. We are looking forward to hearing about all things cricket when the upcoming season approaches.

St Edward's is excited to be able to take teams to Penrith again this year for the NSWCPS Netball Carnival. This will be held on Tuesday 29/8/2023. Selections for the teams will be held this Friday @ 1:50pm for years 3 and 4 and Wednesday 7/6/2023 for Years 5 and 6.
The trials held are to select a team/s (depending on the amount of students who trial). This is an independent trial with usual Saturday netball teams not coming into play at all. If there are not enough students to make two teams then only one team for that given age group will be selected. If you know your child is going to be away on the given day for the age group, please email Mrs Gippel so arrangements can be made for that child to trial on the alternate day.
Any questions or enquiries are to be directed to Mrs Gippel. A reminder that no negative interference will be tolerated by parents or carers in regards to the selection process or the final teams. nmcculloch@arm.catholic.edu.au
Draws will be published on the Tamworth Netball Association Facebook page each week or alternatively find them linked below.
We would love to share information about your child’s special achievements across all sporting areas, please email detailed information and a photograph if available to the Sports Coordinator, Mrs Gippel, at: nmcculloch@arm.catholic.edu.au
