‘Born to Build’ Career Pathway Seminar

On Wednesday 17 May Master Builders ran a seminar for female students as an initiative called ‘Born to Build’. In conjunction with Mas National they are promoting the many career pathways that are available to female students. Their goal is to promote the Construction Industry and the many job opportunities available and jobs that many people have not heard about.

Students from year 9 to 12 attended the opportunity onsite to learn about the construction industry and many of the possible job opportunities. Students heard about various positions, job opportunities and career pathways. Amanda who is an electrician by trade, shared her story of how she entered the construction industry and her experience as an apprentice. Students were able to discuss with the staff about their own pathways and possible job opportunities. They also tried some hands-on practical work using various tools from various trades. Students found the seminar interesting and gained some good information about how to get into an apprenticeship.

If you would like to learn more about the construction industry, how to enrol in VET courses, information about apprenticeships or anything to help with future career pathways, please contact kass.holmes92@schools.sa.edu.au.
