Student Voice Committee

Julia Mikhailova,  Year 12 Student

Hello APHS

The Student Voice Committee at Aberfoyle Park High School (APHS) serves as a platform for students to express their opinions, concerns, and ideas regarding various aspects of the school community. The committee's primary purpose is to amplify the student voice and ensure that students have an active role in shaping their educational experience.

In 2023, the APHS Student Voice team has been working on organising different fundraising and well-being activities. So far we have organised a term 1 casual day, the Sports Day BBQ and multiple music activities. Our team will keep creating events and activities to improve our schools’ wellness and atmosphere.

In week 9, this term we will be holding our Wellbeing Week where we will conduct many different wellbeing activities. Every lunchtime there will be something interesting on, so watch out for posters around the school and notices in the bulletin!

We will kick off the week with some garden games and social events in Middle School. On Tuesday, we will organise a yoga class in the dance studio. We are dedicating Wednesday to mental health and having mindful colouring in, origami making and a Kahoots quiz on the Senior Floor. Thursday will give you some good vibes with board games, chess, drawing, music and more. Finally, we will finish off the week with our collaboration with the Breakfast Club where we will cook a big yummy breakfast at 8.00am in the Middle School courtyard.

We hope everyone will make the most of our wellbeing events.  It will be lots of fun, get together with your friends and we will see you in week 9!

If anyone would like to join the Student Voice team, we meet every Monday in GD1. Please feel free to come along and contribute to our efforts to enhance our already amazing school.
