Attention all Parents & Carers of Yr 9 & 10 Students

This is your official invitation to attend the Senior Pathways Selection Evening on Thursday, August 2.

If you are the parent/carer of a student presently in Yr 10, please add this date to your calendars.  Our subject selection evening will give you an overview of how VCE, VCAL & VET run at BHCS.  There will also be ample opportunity for parents and students to chat with teachers about individual subjects.

If you are a parent/carer of a Yr 9 student who is thinking they may like to accelerate into a VCE subject in 2019, we also strongly recommend you attend this evening.

The evening will commence at 6:50pm in the BHCS Gym.  If you have any questions, contact Vicky Fraanje via vfraanje@bhcs.vic.edu.au

Annual General Meeting Notification

The next Annual General Meeting of the Belgrave Heights Christian School Association will be held in the Restaurant at BHCS on Monday, August 13 at 3.45pm.

Belgrave Heights Christian School is overseen by an Incorporated Association Council (Board of Directors) consisting of four Parent Representatives and six representatives approved by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria.  The School Council (Board) has the overall responsibility of governing, overseeing the affairs of, and making strategic decisions in relation to the School.

The purpose of the meeting is to elect the four parent representatives required.

The School Council invites parents to nominate for membership of the School Council. All representatives will need to complete a nomination form and meet the required criteria as set out on the form.

The above parent representatives are not to be confused with membership of the Parents and Friends Association (PFA).

All nominations must be received by the Secretary, Mr Ian Byles, care of Juliette Krens, PA to the Principal, seven days prior to the meeting, Monday, August 6 2018.  Nomination forms were sent home to all families via email.

We encourage those who are interested and who would like to get an idea of what is involved in being on a Board to go to https://www.nfplaw.org.au/governance. The website provides information about the responsibilities of being a member on a Board.

If you are unable to attend this meeting, please email your apologies to Juliette Krens at jkrens@bhcs.vic.edu.au

Kinder Tinker Time

We are wondering if you can help?  Team Kinder would like to introduce a tinkering project into Kinder.  Tinkering offers children an alternate way to develop their fine motor, cognitive and communication skills by investigating, rebuilding, constructing and planning.

But how can we help, I hear you ask?

Team Kinder are looking for donations of:

  • Nuts
  • Bolts
  • Metal washers
  • Spanners
  • Screw drivers of various sizes
  • Items that are in good condition but no longer work that we can take apart such as: computer towers, toasters, kettles etc

Please contact Kirsty in the Kinder via kmeese@bhcs.vic.edu.au to check if your item will be suitable for the children.  Please also ensure that any donation items do not require specialist tools to open.

PFA Meeting

The PFA (Parents & Friends Association) will hold their first meeting for Term 3 on Friday, August 3 at 9am in the Cafe.  Everyone is welcome, whether you want to be involved in the PFA events/activities in some way or just want to come along to hear whats happening.
