POP - Parents Of Prayer

As detailed in last weeks' Newsletter - a new prayer group for parents/carers of BHCS students is starting next week.  Should you wish to join, please meet in the Cafe on the following days:

• Tuesday:  9.15am - 9.45am
• Thursday: 2.30pm - 3.00pm

Should anyone wish to join for a before school prayer group, please contact our Parents & Friends Association (PFA) via the PFA Facebook page (search BHCS PFA and request to be added to the group).

Coming to our school: Armstice Peace Garden

We need your help please!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Department of Veterans' Affairs, we will be creating a special education and garden area by the current Tech/Arts building.  One of the many features of this area will be a PORTRAIT WALL.  Here the images and service details of veterans from the whole range of conflicts in which Australia has been involved will be displayed.

If you have a family member who is or was a veteran of the armed forces (including nursing and medical staff), and you would like to have that individual memorialized on this Portrait Wall, we would love to hear from you.

We need the following information for each veteran:

• A clear photo of them as they were during their time of enlistment or involvement.
• Their full name and enlistment/service number.
• The conflict in which they served, and their battalion/corps information.
• Very brief further information that students could use to further their understanding of this individual's experience.  For example, where they served, whether they were killed in action (if so, where), were they prisoners of war, and so on.

This information will then be made into an 8 X 10 perspex plaque which will ensure your loved ones' story will be told as we remember their sacrifice.  An example of this may be viewed at Reception.

The School Car Park - Spaces Available!

Our friendly Office Team have noticed in recent weeks that at approximately 3.20pm/3.30pm on most afternoons, there are often many spaces available for use in the school car park.  

Should you wish to try and utilise a car park rather than the pick-up zone we thought you might like to know!

Coles Sport for Schools Update

A big thanks to all in our school community who helped to collect nearly 16,000 vouchers in the recent Coles promotion.  Thanks to you, we have been able to order a variety of new sporting equipment.

Changes to After School Care Government Funding

For families who have their children registered in our Before & After School Care Program with Camp Australia, please carefully read the following two attachments. As Government funding for Child Care Benefits have changed, you need to ensure that you’ve followed the steps to ensure that you continue to receive the government funding you are entitled to.
