New Chaplaincy Team 2018 

Introducing our new Chaplain staff...

At our whole school assembly last Friday, we were thrilled to introduce our new team of Chaplains.

 

We'd like to introduce Anthony, Dreana and Matt to each of you now - with a short little Q&A session: 

Anthony Smith

What is your role within the new Chaplaincy Team?

Senior School Chaplain 

 

What day(s) will you be working?

Friday

 

What are you excited about in your new role?

Meeting students, staff and contributing to wellbeing and culture of BHCS. 

 

What did you do previously / where else are you currently working?

I currently work 2 days a week at both Melbourne High School and Auburn High School as a Chaplain.  I have also worked with VCAL students doing School Based Apprenticeships or Traineeships and as a Warehouse Coordinator. 

 

What do you like to do for fun?

Playing sport (AFL and Cricket), Coaching AFL and cricket (local and representative level) and hanging out with friends

Dreana Beitzel

What is your role within the new Chaplaincy Team?

My role is Chaplain in the Middle School for 2 days and 1 day in the Senior School.   The days will be flexible depending on student need.

 

What day(s) will you be working?

I will be working Monday, Thursday and Friday.  

 

What are you excited about in your new role?

I am excited about getting to know the students and staff, and becoming involved in the life of the school.

 

What did you do previously?

Previously I worked as a primary school Chaplain.  I also work as a counselor in private practice. 

 

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun, I love to spend time with God, my 3 adorable grandchildren, and to go sailing with my husband, Steve.

Matt Edwards

What is your role within the new Chaplaincy Team?

My role will be the Junior School Chaplain.

 

What day(s) will you be working?

Wednesdays and Fridays. 

 

What are you excited about in your new role?

One of the things I am excited about is getting to know all of the students.  

 

What did you do previously?

I have done lots of things!  I worked for an arborist, built high ropes courses and worked at a camp, just to name a few. 

 

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to spend time with my wife, play basketball with my friends and I like to read.
