Term 2: Career News

Term 1 started with the VCE Career and Expo with our Year 11 and 12 students at the Caulfield racecourse. The expo runs annually and is a good opportunity for students to interact with Universities, TAFEs, training organisations, support networks, GAP year programs, employment providers and many more exhibitors.  It is a busy event and, being early in the year serves as a good starting point to start considering questions and options around future education and pathways.

We are excited to host a mini expo later in Term 3 where we will be inviting universities and TAFEs to set up a booth here at the college.  This will happen around the same time that University and TAFE applications open for 2024 and often when students have more specific questions about their preferred courses and entry requirements.

It has been great to see all the opportunities that our Year 10 students have sourced for their work experience placements in Term 2.  This term we have students participating in work experience at St Vincent's Hospital, RSPCA, Ensign Laboratories, Channel 9, NAB bank, AIE, and Deakin University to name a few.  Many programs are still taking applicants throughout Term 2, 3 and 4 and students who have yet to find a placement are encouraged to do so before the end of term and are welcome to speak with Ms Aviva if they need support.
