Year 9 and 10 Boys Netball

On Friday the 5th of May the year 9 and 10 boys travelled to Dandenong Showgrounds to play in the boys' netball competition.

The B side played against some tough teams and showed great respect, persistence and resilience throughout the day. MVP for the B side was Ewan Makse-Hill who played in multiple positions, and showed great skill, sportsmanship and determination in every game.

The A side dominated their games throughout the pool rounds with some quite considerable margins. We made it to the semi-final playing against Wheelers Hill in a nail-biting game winning by 4 points and sending us to the grand final against Brentwood. Unfortunately, Brentwood was too good on the day and we finished with a runner-up for the day. MVP for the A side was Campbell Brown who shot incredibly well all day and helped teach and direct the other boys on the court.

Well done everyone for a fantastic netball carnival. You all represented the school with such pride.

Sports Development Program

While I’ve only had one Sports Development Program (Soccer) session, I already know it will be brilliant. Our teacher is world-renowned Archie Thompson, who scored 13 goals in one match. The drills are really enjoyable, and Archie is very instructive and helps us a lot. The Soccer Sports Development Program is for Years 7 and 8, and I find it helpful to work with some more experienced players. Overall, the program is quite enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to more sessions in the coming weeks!
