Connect: Year 6
Welcome to our Busy Grade 6!
Grade 6 has settled back into the classroom swing of things beautifully after camp. The colder and shorter days certainly haven’t dampened our enthusiasm for learning!
Key Dates
Monday 12th June- KING’S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY (Collingwood by two goals is the tip.)
Friday 16th June- WINTER LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP DAY (Please return your slips if you haven’t already done so.)
Monday 19th June- Parent Teacher Interviews
Friday 23rd June- Last Day of Term 2
The Next Fortnight of Learning
Mathematics
Over the next two weeks, we will be focusing on Algebra where we will be identifying patterns with numbers. We will also be exploring Angles and how to accurately measure with a protractor.
Literacy
In reading, we will be studying inference where we will be particularly mindful of a character’s inner feelings by looking closely at their actions and behaviours.
In writing, we have been looking at the components of a biography and will be writing some of our own. Who knows, you might have your life written up by a budding young writer in your house!
Inquiry
We have been working very hard in composing a presentation of a prominent Australian and what effect they have had on our nation. It’s time to present!
Wellbeing
Our Term 2 topic for Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships is Help Seeking.
Reminders
- Return your Winter Lightning Premiership slip if you haven’t already done so.
- Book in for Parent Teacher Interviews so you can hear how wonderful and angelic your child really is!
