"From the College Archives"

In 2013, the then Bishop of Sale, Christopher Prowse was appointed the Archbishop of Canberra & Goulburn. Bishop Prowse, as he was in 2013, had a strong affiliation with St. Peter’s College, especially the Clyde North Campus.  He was present at several opening and ground-breaking ceremonies at Clyde North over the four years of his stewardship of the Sale Diocese.  To acknowledge this connection, Mr. Jean-Paul Antoine wrote a moving tribute to Bishop Prowse that was published in The Rock of the same year.  The Rock of 2013 also reports the Official Opening and Blessing of the Graham building that was named after Sr. Rosemary rsm, the first principal of St. Agatha’s Primary School (‘From the Archives’, April 4th, 2022).  Mr. James Roberts, the foundational Head of Campus for Clyde North, reported that the opening was one of two note worthy events to have taken place in 2013.  The other was the introduction of Integrated Learning for Years 7 & 8. This subject encompassed the traditional ‘elective’ subjects that students had formerly undertaken.  The Rock also reports that 8th July 2013 saw the first anniversary of the Foundation Mass of St. Thomas the Apostle the Parish. Once again, Bishop Prowse was involved. Sunday Mass for the St Thomas the Apostle community was celebrated at St. Peter’s North Campus until April 23rd this year. On a sombre note, Dr. Therese D’Orsa the former Director of Catholic Education and Director of Religious Education in the Diocese of Sale from 1997 – 2007 passed away on May 7th 2023. Dr. D’Orsa was present at St. Peter’s Cranbourne Campus for the blessing of the Chapel and the Florence Williams building in 2003.

May she Rest in Peace.

City of Casey -

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you that engagement on the proposed Cranbourne Hub project is now open on the City of Casey’s Casey Conversations page.

This project centres around Council’s proposal to amalgamate the delivery of the Cranbourne Library, Cranbourne Customer Service Centre and Casey Youth Information Centre under a single roof close to the main activity centre in Cranbourne. These three services are currently situated in two different locations.

The project also advocates for several Community Service Organisations (yet to be chosen) to be located on the first floor of this multi-level development in future.

Your students’ parents, teachers, volunteers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to provide Council with their feedback on this project from now until Sunday, 28 May 2023.

The link to the survey is as follows:
