From the Principal Team

Our Working Bee.

Our Working Bee last Sunday was quite a success with around 50 people giving their time to improve our grounds. Whilst we will continue to look at building this number, we were appreciative of the time each of you gave and for the hard work of up to 3 hours, which truly made a difference. Our teachers commented on how much better all areas looked on Monday morning.

Above you will see just a few of our parents and students having a quick break and enjoying a morning tea together before heading back out. Our next Working Bee will be as the weather improves early September. A date will be included in our Term 3 Calendar, which you will receive at the end of this term.

THE PAVILION

The ongoing issues with bursting pipes in the Pavilion has been a concern for all of us. We have registered the urgency of restoring two classrooms with the Department of Education. Whilst they have been responsive, the "drying out" process before we re-enter can take a week.  I want to thank all staff for their support of the the students to ensure learning and positivity is not interrupted. The cause of the broken pipes is being addressed to prevent further issues. I will communicate updates to Prep L and 2F classes

Sustainability Dress up Day

Today is Sustainability Dress-up Day.  Everyone looked fantastic as we celebrated our commitment to sustainability and raised funds t be used for the rebuild and refurbishment of our chicken coop. Thank you to all of our students for participating.

Our Community. Our Future -  Next Thursday 15th June

Our second presentation of our Parent Information Evening is coming up, so we hope to see you if you were unable to make the first evening.

From 7pm we will have five 15 minute presentations (with a short break for tea and coffee) to keep you abreast of our priorities as we move forward.

OUR VISION - The 2022 School Review celebrated the strengths of Beaumaris Primary and provided clear direction for our future steps. We will discuss recent and upcoming initiatives as we respond to the review.

TEACHING and LEARNING - Our Education Sub-Committee is developing a renewed approach to connecting our parent community with what is happening in our classrooms.

If a school has a strong partnership with parents, the child's potential success is maximised. We will discuss how future opportunities will provide you with a deeper understanding of how your child is learning.

LEARNER AGENCY -  We give our students a voice in so many ways, but most importantly young people should have a voice in the the way they learn. This gives them ownership, engagement, identity and a sense of being valued. As we are all part of a learning community, we invite you to learn how this is becoming part of everyday classroom practice.

OUR COMMUNITY - We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of parents who support the school in so many ways. After two years of lockdowns many schools have lost some of that sense of community and are rebuilding...as are we. Learn how you can be a part of this.

FUNDING OUR FUTURE - The complexities of a school's finances will be presented with a clear approach which highlights the challenges in ensuring we are providing an outstanding educational setting for your children.
