We are your 2022 swimming Captains; we are excited to see what this year will bring and hope to continue the momentum that was created last year. The culture of swimming is shifting in the swim team because of the success of previous seasons, which is so exciting for the future of swimming at Mt A.  We aim to work together with the sports department to motivate our swim team to participate in the events throughout this term and into Term 1 next year. We will be present in every area of swimming at Mount Alvernia, whether that’s at the lead up meets, age champ races, Swimfit in the mornings or training over at United, you will always see a familiar face. We look forward to seeing our swim team excel this year.

Swimfit is a great opportunity for students to make sure they excel in this upcoming swim season. Swimfit is run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8am in the morning by Peter Dale. Swimfit is not as intense as United Swimming Club but it is a great way to improve your overall health, swimming ability and a great way to meet new people and make friends of all ages.

Alongside the swimming opportunities at Mt A, for those who are interested in swimming competitively or at a higher intensity than that of SwimFit, Padua and Mt A have a joint swimming club - United Swimming Club. The club provides a range of squads, from Learn to Swim, all the way up to Masters. It is the perfect opportunity this summer swimming season to get into the fittest and fastest you can with United Swimming Club. The club also holds club nights for those wanting to race against friends in a positive, friendly environment.  We all look forward to working with the Swim team and other captains and continue the legacy of those swimming captains before us.
