Principal's Report

Welcome back to Term 4!

Whilst we continue remote learning for the first 2 weeks of this term, we do have a “road map” that at least gets Victorian students back into classrooms – even if it is just part time. We know this will be a welcome relief to you all at home as the stress of all of this can be and has been overwhelming at times.

Individual Education Plans

Teachers will be updating your child’s Individual Education Plan over the next couple of weeks and emailing them home for you to look at.  It is important (with the minimal time we will have face-to-face this term) that we are clear on the most important concepts your child needs to learn before the 2022 school year.

The past week….

Thank you for the support and understanding over the past week.  The Department of Health and DET were incredibly well versed in ensuring our school was a safe environment to return to after the holidays.  In fact, I have never seen our school look so clean!

The Way the Return Looks!

The first 2 weeks of Term 4

Care is available onsite only to families who have registered with Mrs Pepper and have exhausted all other care options.

From Monday 18th October (third week of Term 4)

  • Prep (Monday to Wednesday)
  • Grade 1 and 2 (Thursday and Friday)

From Tuesday 26th October (fourth week of Term 4)

  • Grade 3 and 4 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
  • Grade 5 and 6 (Thursday and Friday)

From Friday 5th November

  • All students are expected to return to onsite learning Monday to Friday.

If You Have a Request

Sometimes parents have a specific request that they would like us to consider before making our grades for the following year.   If you have a specific request, please email this to rowan.balzary@education.vic.gov.au by Friday 5th November.  Please ensure the request states the benefits to your child’s education.  Not all requests can be appeased, however we do try our best.

From School Council

Recently, school council put out an expression of interest to before and after school care providers.  This has been a lengthy process which has involved shortlisting and interviewing potential providers.  I am pleased the say that TEAM KIDS have been successful and will become Langwarrin PS Outside School Hours Care provider.  Please await further information on the changeover ready for 2022.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Camp Australia and Katelyn for the wonderful work they have done over the past few years.

One Further Note

Our newsletter in Term 4 and beyond will move to a fortnightly addition rather than weekly.

Have a great week,

Mark Moorhouse
