FOUNDATION - Around the Traps

Literacy/Inquiry 

This week we are focussing on the book ‘The Very Grouchy Ladybug’ By Eric Carle. We are learning about all creatures great and small in our Inquiry unit this week. We have had fun exploring the mini-beasts we find in our playground especially the ladybugs in the trees at present. We are learning about animals and their habitats and that is important to leave animals in their natural homes.

Maths 

This week we are learning about sharing amongst groups. We have listened to the story ‘The Doorbell Rang’ By Pat Hutchins and used our problem-solving skills to work on how to share the cookies evenly.

RE (Religious Education)

Foundation is learning about some special Saints. All Saints Day is on 1st November and this week we are learning about St. Nicholas of Myra and St. Francis of Assisi.
