Principal's Report

Dear parents and families,

Students and staff have settled comfortably back onsite. It has certainly been great to be able to catch up with the students this week. As you are aware several of the schools in our area have had COVID cases. Keeping our school community as safe as possible is a focus currently. Our strategies are:

  1. Vaccination
  2. Ventilation - We can open the louvre windows in the classroom and the upper windows in the central learning street and in other rooms the windows with screens.
  3. Vital COVIDSafe steps
    1. Social Distancing
    2. Face masks for Grades 3-6 are now compulsory unless there is a medical exemption and highly recommended for F-2. (Supplied by parents)
    3. Hygiene and testing, sanitising and washing hands at key points throughout the day, if a child or adult displays any cold or flu like symptoms, they are not to attend school.

CURRICULUM DAY

Monday 1st November is a Curriculum Day and Tuesday 2nd is a Public Holiday.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

At school council on Monday night 3 policies were endorsed.

  • COVID-19 Vaccinations – Visitors and Volunteers Working on School Sites
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations – Teaching Service and School Council Employees
  • Healthy Eating Policy

LEARNING PACKS

Grade 3 & 4 Learning Packs will be sent home tomorrow. This is just a precautionary measure in case of a need to revert to remote learning in the event of a positive COVID case in our school.

SICK LEAVE

Unfortunately, Jenny Davey will be on sick leave for the rest of the year, we wish her a speedy recovery. I am very appreciative of the support given to the school at the moment by Shareena Pearce and Bree Giles, they have been a wonderful support to me.

Enjoy your long weekend and this beautiful sunshine,

Regards Heather
