From the Principal

Patrick Green

Dear Parents/ Carers,

As you can imagine, it has been fantastic for us to see the return of our Foundation, Years 1/2 and Years 5/6 students this week and we are really looking forward to seeing our Years 3/4 students join us next week! The teachers have planned many exciting learning tasks and activities for them and no doubt the students will relish this time to reconnect with their friends and staff.

We know this transition back to onsite learning will be a fluid one for many and a little more of a challenge for some students, so please know that the happiness and wellbeing of everyone is at the forefront of our minds and engagement will be high on our priority as students continue to settle back into onsite learning.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns; we are here to support you and your families in any way we can. I’m also available to chat on the phone or feel free to send me an email if I can assist you in any way. I hope that the students who have been here with us this week, have enjoyed their return to school and have shared information about their days with members of their family.

MACSSIS - Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School

Yesterday, you will have received a letter from me via email.  This letter provides your access to MACSSIS which is a survey to provide us with valuable insights into your experience of our school. This annual survey is a very important tool to support our work with the current Review that we are undertaking. The Review is once every four years and these annual surveys assist us to track and measure the progress we are making in a variety of areas of school life.

I invite and encourage all families to please assist us by completing the survey in the coming days. As the new Principal at the school I feel this is an excellent opportunity for me to learn of your insights as members of our school community. I greatly value the input of parents. Access to the survey is via the pin number contained in the letter and can only be used once.  The survey is anonymous and is open until Thursday October 28.  Thanks in advance for your time and contribution to this process.

COVID Response and Return to school

As you are aware from my communications last week, we had two cases of COVID-19 onsite.  I sincerely thank all students, staff and families for their wonderful support of each other. I’m grateful for the tremendous work and assistance of Mark Pinkerton and Liz Cox, particularly outside of school hours and across the weekend to ensure we had all the necessary detail and communications required in a timely manner for all involved.

The staff and I wish good health to all of our families and thank you again for your patience and understanding of the measures that we are required to have in place at this time.

Please refer to the Dates to Remember section of this newsletter for the days each year level will have onsite learning over the next two weeks.

Warm regards

Patrick Green
