Local Geography Students excel in Australian Geography Competition.
Geography students from Monivae College tested their geographical skills and knowledge against students from all around Australia in the 2021 Australian Geography Competition. The Competition aims to encourage student interest in geography and to reward student excellence.
We have a number of student geographers at our school who performed to a very high level in the Competition this year with one student in the top 1% in their Year Level across Australia. Other students between them gained seven high distinctions, eight high distinctions and eighteen credits. Over 73,000 students from 727 schools across Australia entered the Australian Geography Competition so the results are an external benchmark as to how our students are going in certain aspects of geography,
