Demand for ‘soft skills’ in future workplaces
The next ten years will see a shake-up of the mix of skills required by the Australian workforce, with workers needing to deepen their existing skill sets, or acquire new ones. Soft skills are becoming more important than ever. A Deloitte report found that soft skill intensive occupations will account for two-thirds of all jobs by 2030, compared to half of all jobs in 2000.
