From the classrooms
Welcome back to school for 2022. Once again we find ourselves in difficult times with COVID-19, however, we have shown that we are resilient and ready for challenges. Please ensure that if students are showing any symptoms, ensure they have a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) as soon as possible.
We have welcomed new staff to join us this year in Infants and Primary, and our staffing structure as it stands currently is:
K/1 Class - Mem Brougham (AP Infants Relieving)
1/2 Class - Paris Corcoran
2/3 Class - Nat Downey
4/5 Class - Matthew Rowley (joining us from East Maitland)
5/6 Class- Jason Stuart (AP Primary Relieving)
Yindy MC Class - Kirsty Miller and John Keighley
Robyn Hoy - Infants RFF and teaching 1/2 once a week
Brett Sullivan - RFF Infants and Primary, Yindy one day per week (joining us from Canterbury in Sydney)
Denise Corkhill - Learning and Support Teacher
Carol Harpley - COVID Intervention Support Teacher
Trudy Mahoney - Instructional Leader
Mary Corkhill - Administration and Support
We also have our fabulous School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) Sara, Jaimee, Rose, Haylee, Fiona, Taryn and Sascha. They are the best in the business at supporting our kids to achieve their best.
We will also have Stephanie Alexander Kitchen and Garden with Catherine Golden, STEM with Willow Bridge and Stronger Smarter with Taryn Riles. What a busy schedule we have!
We look forward to a great year ahead. Please get in touch with your child's teacher through the front office if you have any issues at all. Our doors aren't physically open for parents currently, but we will do what we can for all of our students and their families.

Welcome back to school for 2022! It's great to be back at school together again, and what a way to kick off our school year at Boorowa Central School with our super-special event on Tuesday.
We are looking forward to (hopefully) welcoming parents and community members back to school events before too long, including fortnightly assemblies and other gatherings, so keep an eye out for dates once our school COVID restrictions ease again. Thank you to all families for your cooperation in conducting RATs with your children twice weekly for the next few weeks – we appreciate that it's not easy fitting in another extra thing to do into your morning routines!
Boorowa Central School has several new students in our Infants Department this year, and we warmly welcome them to our wonderful school community.
K/1
Kindergarten students have all proudly had their first (short) week at school! It was fantastic to see them all on Wednesday looking oh so grown up in their new uniforms and ready to start their exciting next step of learning at school. They should all be super proud of themselves for quickly remembering the routines and structures from transition and happily joining in activities, games and play!
Our Year 6 buddies have provided awesome support for our new students, joining them for lunch each day, playing and guiding them in the playground, and helping with some class activities. Thank you to each buddy!
We are very pleased to have some Year 1 students joining us for a combined Kindergarten/Year 1 class this year.
These students are stepping up as great leaders for our class and have shown wonderful kindness and leadership as they have helped our youngest learnings start big school.
Already this week, K/1 has been busy painting and crafting to add to our 'sea theme' classroom, as well as visiting our Innovation Centre for STEM.
Mrs Bridge and I were amazed at the clever design and engineering that occurred on day one and can't wait to see how these skills grow. It's already shaping up for a great year in K/1!
