New - GV Libraries News

cloudLibrary is here !

Our gift to you for Library Lovers Day: you can now browse and read from over 200,000 eBooks & eAudio with our new cloudLibrary service, free to library users.

cloudLibrary is a popular eBook and eAudiobook platform available from any device, anywhere. Before cloudLibrary, our patrons had access to over 11,500 titles via our BorrowBox and Libby platforms.

Now, cloudLibrary gives us access to over 200,000 titles!  This is a huge addition to our eBook capability and will vastly increase the range and variety of titles available - and it’s all FREE for library members.   Why give money to tech billionaires to put themselves and B-grade celebrities into space? For those that use BorrowBox, this platform will still be available and will always provide great contemporary Australian eBook and eAudiobook titles. It’s easy to get on cloudLibrary - just get on www.gvlibraries.com.au and away you go - available for our patrons from Monday 14 February 2022 – Library Lovers Day!

New -St  Mary's Mooroopna - Ball Committee

The St. Mary’s Ball committee has been running for some forty years.

We have one Ball each year with 18- to 20 Debs.

At this stage, we are looking for a person to join our small committee.  It is usually only for a 8 - to 10 week period each year in preparation for the Ball.  We have someone to train the Debs and their partners. But unfortunately if we do not get help on the committee the Debutante ball in 2023 will not go ahead.

Please phone Maree on 58252584 if you are interested or know someone who maybe.

Thank you.

Puppetry School

Drama Through Puppetry, also known as Puppetry School is a program an inclusive theatrical experience open to children in grades 3-6 and run by Jason Triggs. This runs each Wednesday during term and we meet at the Mooroopna Hall, 41 McLennan St, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Throughout the year the children learn skills in puppetry, set design, script writing, character and voice. Each child designs and assists with building a professional rod arm puppet which they get to keep.

The year concludes with a production open to friends and families. With only 12 places available, spots are filling.
