Introducing New Staff

Introducing Our New Staff Members to West Beach Primary School

Vicky Jones - Deputy Principal

Happy New School Year!

My name is Vicky Jones (Mrs Jones to the students) and I am very excited to join the team at West Beach Primary School as the new Deputy Principal.

I have already enjoyed getting to know our Reception and Year 1 students over the last few days and also the older students that we have had on site.

In my previous role, I was Assistant Principal at Henley Beach Primary School. My job involved many things including leading literacy across the school, Early Years R-3 Leader, supporting children with additional learning needs and working with families. I also taught in Reception Class for two days a week.

Prior to my position at Henley Beach, I taught at Rose Park Primary School, where I was Early Years IB Leader.

I have lived in Australia for 5 years now. This had always been my dream, as I love exploring new places and being outside in the sunshine.

I was born in Liverpool, England but lived on the Isle of Wight for 20 years. I taught in both private and public schools and worked in various teaching and leadership positions.

I have been married for 21 years and have two children, Sophie and James, who I love to the moon and back. We currently don’t have any pets but I am trying to convince my husband to buy me a puppy.

As a family we like to go on camping adventures, swim in the ocean and spend most weekends on the side of a soccer pitch watching James play. We are glad that this is no longer in the rain and mud!

I look forward to getting to know the rest of the students and families over the coming weeks and sharing my enthusiasm and passion.

Nadeen Yates - Year 5/6 Teacher

Dear families,

I would like to introduce myself, as best I can online. My name is Nadeen Yates and I am teaching the Year 5/6 class in Room 11 this year. I have just moved back to Adelaide after spending 5 years in the Riverland. I have spent the last 5 years working as the Year 6/7 teacher, as well as supporting students as the Wellbeing Leader at a beautiful school in Renmark.

I grew up in Henley Beach, so I am very excited to be back working in the Western Suburbs at West Beach Primary School. The staff and students that I have met so far have been very welcoming. I am very excited to get to know all the students and families across West Beach when we get everyone back to school. Feel free to introduce yourselves and say hi over the next few weeks (I am always up for a chat!)
