MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Steve Quinn
Middle Sub School Leader
Welcome to the 2022 school year. I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and relaxing break. I want to start by congratulating everyone on their positive transition back from holidays. It has been great hearing of peoples adventures while away and their plans to achieve their best this year.
Organisation is going to be key to a successful launch into the year and students should, by now, have everything they need. These things include:
- A 2022 NGSC diary which includes several great wellbeing tips and other new features.
- A timetable with all your Semester 1 subjects
- A locker and school lock
- All the required learning materials including novels and appropriate calculators
- A technological device (iPad, Chromebook or Mac) that is connected to the school server
- Your appropriate academic and PE uniform
- Access to Google Classroom pages
The Middle School has limited familiar faces from last year with 4 new members joining the team. Below are who you need to know:
Sub-School Attendance Officer: Pauline Carra
Year 9: James Cowan-Clark (Coordinator) & Kellie Phillipps (Assistant Coordinator)
Year 10: Luke Sharp (Coordinator) & Lauren Edmunds (Assistant Coordinator)
Sub-School Leader: Steven Quinn
Some upcoming events to be aware of in the coming weeks are:

As mentioned above we have had a great start to the year and this is reflected in the number of positive recognition posts already given so far. We are only two weeks into the term and already many students have been acknowledged for their hard work, positive attitude and community focus. Not only this, we have several students with numerous green entries. More details on this to come but for now congratulations to all of you who are currently making our College a better place through your actions.
Our expectations at NGSC are high and we in the Middle Sub-School look forward to supporting our students to be the best learners and members of the College community they can. But to achieve this we must all work together, teachers, students and parents/carers, if we are to have the greatest impact. Throughout the year please pay close attention to Compass, progress report data, Semester reports, emails, etc, and contact a member of our team if you have any questions or concerns.
