Parents and guardians of students, who do not have student accident insurance and ambulance cover, are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including the cost of ambulance attendance/transport and any other transport costs.
Student accident insurance/ambulance cover policies are available from some commercial insurers and can be obtained by parents/guardians for individual students.
PLEASE REMEMBER:-
Private property brought to school by students, staff or visitors is not insured, and the Department does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage.

Mobile Phones
In accordance with the Department’s Mobile Phone Policy issued by the Minister for Education, personal mobile phones must not be used at Macleod College during school hours, including lunchtime and recess, unless an exception has been granted.
Where a student has been granted an exception, the student must use their mobile phone for the purpose for which the exception was granted, and in a safe, ethical and responsible manner.
Exceptions to this policy may be applied if certain conditions are met (contact the school for further information).
Macleod College understands that students may bring a personal mobile phone to school, particularly if they are travelling independently to and from school.
However, students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must have them switched off and securely stored in their locker during school hours.
Students who do not abide by these rules will have their phones confiscated for the day and any further offences will incur detentions.
When emergencies occur, parents or carers should reach their child by calling the Macleod College Reception on 9459 0222.

NAPLAN Online 2022
Macleod College transitioned from paper based NAPLAN to NAPLAN Online in 2019. In 2022 all schools will conduct the NAPLAN online. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 & 9 will complete their NAPLAN Online in May. The Writing test remains pen and paper based for Year 3 students.
Students are permitted to use wired headphones for some of the tests. We ask that parents/carers provide students with their own personal set of headphones for hygiene reasons. Any wired set of earphones can be used, please check that they are working properly.
The following information pamphlet will be sent home with students from Monday, 28 February, 2022.

The Public Demonstration site is available for parents and students to familiarise themselves with the types of questions and the online functionality. Answers are not provided. In a school setting, some students may be shy to ask questions about using the computer. “Playing” with you at home will help them gain confidence.
Year 9 students will participate in a national Coordinated Practice Test on 24 March, 2022. They will complete a practice Writing test. Further familiarisation opportunities will be provided at school for all year groups completing NAPLAN in 2022.
