Leader of Curriculum News

I would like to welcome our college community to the new year. I have already interviewed a number of year 9 and 11 students regarding their electives for 2022/2023. As we are now entering into week 4, students have been reminded that it is now too late to change courses. A lot of work has already been covered in the first 3 weeks of the term and it is important that classes are settled for the year.
I will be meeting with Year 11 students this week to hand out a copy of the Preliminary Assessment Policy and Schedule for 2022. NESA rules are quite explicit regarding the completion and submission of Preliminary and HSC assessment tasks. I will be going through these requirements to ensure that students are clear on the college/NESA expectations regarding assessments.
I encourage all senior students write out their own Assessment Schedule for their courses of study for the year to help them better manage the increased workload.
Information Nights are included in the college calendar for year 11 and 12 students and parents. These nights are invaluable to further help support our senior students negotiate the HSC.
I will look forward to working with all our students and parents in 2022.
Regards,
Mr John Seers
