As it is, God has put all the separate parts into the body as he chose. If they were all the same part, how could it be a body? As it is, the parts are many but the body is one. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” and nor can the head say to the feet, “I have no need of you.” What is more, it is precisely the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest which are the indispensable ones.”
1 Corinthians 12:18-23– A letter of St Paul to the Corinthians
Together we will clearly achieve more. We need each other, let us encourage each other to be the best we can...and as one group. As we begin the school year let us continue to remember the words of St Paul.
Welcome to Term 1- 2022
Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Welcome to the 2022 school year. I trust that the break has rejuvenated and energised you, hopeful for a successful new year. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless our school and all those who contribute to fulfilling God’s promise of “The Way, The Truth and The Life.”
Already it is Week four of the term calendar and as usual much has already happened. This newsletter is full of reports of these important events and I hope that you have time to have a read.
A welcome to all new members of our school community. There are 725 students currently enrolled at the college with 144 new Year 7 students who are ready and eager to begin their journey through high school. I wish them every success. Photos of their Community Day are in this newsletter.
I also would like to welcome our new Marian Catholic College staff. They are settling in well. More introductory information about them is included in this newsletter. In this staff introduction I also include new College Chaplain Fr, Cyprian. Cyprian recently arrived at Sacred Heart Parish and has visited staff and students a number of times over the past two weeks.
As we are all aware, Covid19 restrictions are in place and I remind everyone to please comply with these regulations. Sending children to school untested on the days we have asked to test or sending children coming to school with symptoms or worse still attending school when they are in a house with others Covid positive puts everyone at risk, particularly those who are vulnerable with underlying health conditions.
2021 HSC Results
The 2021 HSC results were outstanding once again and places the college in the top group of all country NSW schools! Our HSC results demonstrate that our College provides an excellent education for our students and that we have great teachers.
Congratulations to all 2021 YR 12 HSC students, the College wishes each and every success as you venture into post school life!
Last Friday Marian celebrated the 2021 HSC results at the Dux and High Achievers Assembly. Imreet Singh was our worthy 2021 Dux with an ATAR of 98.5. Imreet’s Dux speech more details about the 2021 High Achievers follow in this newsletter.
At the end of this assembly, the 2022 Prefects and House Vice-Captains were inducted and received a blessing from Fr Cyprian for their work over the coming year. We wish them well, particularly in their chosen area of the College Mission, knowing that they have the support of the staff and students.
Finally, may the year ahead present many moments, formal and informal, for us to be thankful for the Christ-given gifts of faith, courage, perseverance, intelligence, patience, and compassion. We ask for God’s blessing so that individually and collectively we fulfil our motto of the “The Way, The Truth and The Life”.
Peace and Best wishes
