ASC Futsal League
The DEN was a hive of activity and fun on the last day of Term 1, with lots of fun at ASC's intramural futsal league.
Thanks to Mr Model and his team for organising a marvellous day to wrap up Term 1.
Winter Sports
We've had plenty of students involved in representing our school in winter sports codes over the past few weeks. Some of the results include:
Touch Football:
Our Opens Girl Touch team played a strong attacking game to defeat Tamworth High School 7-2. They are lined up to play Quirindi High School in the next round.
Our Opens Boys Touch team travelled to Bundarra Central School in Week 2 to play a competitive game which they eventually won 13-3. This week our Open Boys Touch team fronted up to Moree Secondary College out at the UNE fields to play the quarter finals. Although the ASC team demonstrated solid skills and a determined spirit, Moree went away with a 8-3 win.
Football (soccer):
Our Under 15s Girls Football team have defeated O'Connor Catholic College 4-0 in the Bill Turner Cup. Congratulations to Ami Frost and Anika O'Brien for scoring two goals each!
Our Open Girls Football team scored a 3-0 win when they travelled with their coach, Ryan Harris, to play at Guyra Central School. Goal scorers were Maddie Moran, Ami Frost and Sophie Parsons. In the next round they defeated Tenterfield High School, wrapping up a very close game with 2-1 score-line in extra time.
In the first week of this term, our Open Boy Football team played the first knockout round against Oxley High School. They played a high quality game to win the match 8-1.
Rugby:
In Week 2, five ASC students headed to Wyong to participate in the NSW CHSSA Rugby Union 16s Final Trials! Congratulations to Rari Widders-Lockwood, Cooper Collins, Henry Blackwell, Lucas Thornton and Keandre Johnson-Vale for their outstanding achievements!
