Term 2
What an amazing start to Term 2 we have had in Junior School. First week back and we have already been on our first excursion for the year!
Heading out in the bus to the Arts Centre, students very excitedly talk amongst themselves pointing out their favourite buildings and talking about last night, last month or last year when they were last in the city.
When we arrived at the Arts Centre we went into the grand theatre and watched the very entertaining show 'Charlie and the War Against the Grannies'. The students sat in awe watching the live show, enjoying some of the great songs including 'I fart when I am scared!'
Following the Arts Centre we walked across the bridge over the Yarra, stopping to look at some of the interesting landmarks within the city and then continuing our adventure to Birrarung Marr to have our lunch and enjoy an afternoon play.
Once we returned to school Seth, Harvey, Jagger and Bella stood up at assembly to share with the school their favourite parts of the excursion and Ms. Hubbard presented the Junior School with a WHOLE bird for demonstrating amazing respect throughout the day.
Thank you again to our AMAZING parent helpers on the day, we could not have done it without you!!!
With ANZAC day occurring on the 25th of April, we learnt about why we commemorate this day and created our own slouch hats to pay respect to the servicemen and women who have fought bravely for our country.
As part of our digital technologies and maths learning we have started experiencing our little Bee Robot friends, the Beebots.
Beebots are robots that can go forward and backwards and can make quarter turns left or right. Programing the robots to go in the direction that we would like them to go is helping our students learn the basics of coding as they start to think about the instructions they need to provide to get their desired results.
On a very foggy morning we headed down to Elizabeth Bridge Park for our cross country run. Our students excitedly watch the older grades complete their laps and then headed out for their lap around. Well done to all our ribbon winners
We would still really appreciate any boxes of tissues for the classroom.
Thank you for all the boxes for our design and technology unit this term. We are still still looking for things such as:
