Foundation News
Welcome back to Term 2
We hope you had a fantastic school holidays! It is great to see everyone back and jumping into learning. We have been focusing on showing respect to one another while moving around in the classroom, playing in the yard and listening on the floor.
Foundation Learning
Literacy: We have been starting to explore narrative writing. We have read through different mentor texts to help us see how authors create their stories. We have thought about the characters, settings, problems and resolutions in various stories and how we can apply it to our own writing.
Numeracy: This week we are starting to look at patterns. We have been working on recognising and continuing different colour patterns. We even went for a pattern hunt out in the yard, trying to recognise the patterns around the school.
PMP: We are back in the swing of PMP! This week we focused on our building our balance skills. We walked on stilts, balanced on bars, walked along a rainbow snake and had a bit of fun spinning around.
Cross Country
On Wednesday, we all walked down to Elizabeth Bridge with our hats and our drink bottles ready to run our Cross Country. All of Foundation lined up at the starting line with big smiles on their faces and speedy legs ready to go. Each student demonstrated fantastic resilience as they ran the lap of Elizabeth Bridge.
