Holy Week and Easter
We are currently proceeding towards the most significant season of the Church’s year. Commencing this Friday with the Early Years’ Palm Sunday Liturgy, we begin Holy Week celebrations and culminate with the Resurrection and the start of the Season of Easter. Most people think of Easter as a single day, however, in the Catholic Tradition we celebrate Easter for fifty days. It is an opportunity to awaken our memory of God’s presence and power in our lives.
Throughout Holy Week students will engage in a variety of liturgies using different methods to enhance the experience for our students. As well as the Palm Sunday Liturgy, Kinder and Prep students will learn the significance of Holy Week through The Easter Story Egg. Years 1 and 2 will engage daily with the Holy Week events through Godly Play. Years 3 to 6 will participate in the way of the Cross from Mary’s perspective. Secondary students will participate in a Holy Thursday Liturgy focused on the Last Supper and the washing of the feet.
Project Compassion Boxes
We ask families to return their Project Compassion boxes to the College so that these contributions can go to the work of CARITAS Australia and their global approach to overcoming poverty and disadvantage. Thank you for assisting those most in need.
