Relay For Life

This year 26 Year 10 Students and 4 staff represented Mount Carmel College at Relay for Life. The team raised a phenomenal amount of $9,301 and should be extremely proud of their fabulous efforts.

The team was invited to conduct the Luminary Ceremony this year, an opportunity for everyone to come together and remember why we join Relay for Life. This has been the first time the Cancer Council has offered this ceremony to any team to run and Mount Carmel 2021 should be very proud of how well they not only represented themselves but how well they represented the College Community. The team presented with great poise and were complimented all weekend for their efforts and the significance and heartfelt meaning it brought other participants at the event.

This year also brought the girls the Spirit of Relay Award. This Award is presented to the team(s) that come to the attention of the Cancer Council and do something amazing in the space of Relay. This is the first time in Mount Carmel's history of participating in the event of winning this award and demonstrates the true mission of the Sisters of Charity for the spirit of strength, service and compassion.

The Mount Carmel 2021 team would like to thank the College Community for being so supportive of such a significant event. All funds raised in this Relay for Life event remain in the State and go towards fighting for a cancer free future.
