From the Religious

Co-Ordinator

A big thank you to our Galilee families. Together we have raised over $610 to be donated to the Project Compassion—Caritas Mission. Your generosity will go a long way for people struggling to overcome poverty and injustice.

At Galilee we will celebrate Mother's Day on Friday morning 7th May.

The photo booth and special treats will be offered at 8: 20 am on the playground. At 9 am, our students will lead us in a beautiful prayer service. It would be wonderful to see everyone a part of our community celebrate all women. Including, those who are special in our lives; mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, aunties and friends.

Religious Education Curriculum

Throughout all Religious Education lessons the students are invited to reflect on Sacred Scripture, talk with God through prayer, discover the beauty of God’s creation and explore the meaning of symbols and rituals.

In particular, the storytelling approach engages students through scripture and key elements of the curriculum. The students enjoying reflecting upon scripture through wondering, reflecting and exploring.

Regina Coeli is prayed at noon from Easter Sunday - Pentecost.

The Easter prayer Regina Coeli (“Queen of Heaven” in Latin) is a wonderful tribute to our Lord’s resurrection and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Traditionally, it is prayed standing, often at noon, in place of another well-known prayer, the Angelus, during the Easter Season from Holy Saturday until Pentecost.

The First Holy Communion will be on Sunday 22 August at 12 noon.

More information TBC.
