Reconciliation Week

The 27th May- 3rd June is Reconciliation Week. Classes have been engaging in discussions and activities around the theme of More than a word. Reconciliation takes action. There will be an assembly on Friday 4th June which will be live streamed on the Para Vista Facebook page. We hope you can join us in recognising Reconciliation Week. After the assembly all classes will be marching around the oval to publicly show our respect and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. 2021 marks twenty years of Reconciliation Australia and almost three decades of Australia’s formal reconciliation process. The dates for National Reconciliation Week remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. #MoreThanAWord  #NRW2021

Breakfast Club

Breakfast club runs Tuesday's to Thursday's from 8:30 to 8:45. If your child requires breakfast they need to come between those times. Please encourage them to come to breakfast before they play in the yard as they may miss out.

Library Before School - Monday's and Thursday's

We have a parent volunteer in the library from 8:30am  to 8:45am on a Monday and a Thursday. Students are welcome in the library on those days and may wish to read or borrow a book  before going to class.

Communication

Please note that we no longer use the Skoolbag app. School communication is via Edmodo, Facebook, email and phone as well as face to face where we can.

If you need to contact the school please telephone or email parent.support483@schools.sa.edu.au

Please contact the school when your child is absent; teachers need to follow up on all unexplained absences and if parents ring to let the school know it is most appreciated.

Class teacher emails have also been provided to follow up on individual issues. Please do not use Edmodo messages to ask teachers to follow up on individual student issues or to report absences as these have to be documented appropriately,

Please refrain from sending individual messages and emails to teachers and Leadership staff out of working hours as we cannot guarantee a response after 5pm. Urgent matters should be communicated to the Front Office between 8am and 5pm and will be responded to promptly.
