Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and Carers

Today we warmly welcomed back all our students and staff whom we have missed during this Lockdown! It was wonderful to see our students burst through the school gates in their pyjamas, onesies and casual clothes to greet their students and teachers. There is an atmosphere of joy and a buzz of excitement as the teachers have planned a fun filled day for all students that aim at reconnecting with each other, strengthening our relationships and ensuring that we are a school community that supports and celebrates each other!

These last two weeks will focus on robust teaching and learning in the classrooms to ensure that our students get the most out of this term. Our teachers will hold off on assessing students at this stage as our strategy will be to teach concepts that students were not able to engage with while learning remotely these last two weeks.

In the last week of Term, we will have the Student Led Three Way Conversations on Tuesday, 22nd and Wednesday, 23rd June. Each family will have 15 minutes to meet with the class teacher. These will be held online this time in light of the covid restrictions. Please book in a time to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss your child’s learning. These conferences will focus on the student who will have an opportunity to share their successes and challenges. Here are a few points to outline your role as a parent during these conferences.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Stay well and stay warm.

Kind regards

Glennis Kerr
