Pen Pal Club

On Wednesday, the students from Trinity’s Pen Pal Club received their very first letters from their pen pals at Lock Area School in South Australia. We have been paired with this school through the Australia Post Pen Pal program. Lock Area school is a small rural school on the Eyre Peninsula. Their school setting is very different to ours. We have a lot to learn about them and they have a lot to learn about us. The students in the Pen Pal Club have spent the last few weeks learning about Lock Area School and writing our first letters to them. Today we opened our first letters from them. We were very excited to read about our new pen pals. Here are as few of our excited responses when we received the letters….

“It was really exciting because we had been waiting so long for our letters. It was almost like opening a gift on my birthday!” Amelia 5/6 JC

“I felt very excited when I received my letter because I wanted to read it and learn everything about my pen pal.” Douglas 4/5FA

“It was really cool because we got the letters from really far away and it was like unwrapping Christmas presents. It was really fun to read them.” Maggie 5/6JC

“I was really keen and enthusiastic about receiving my first pen pal letter. The letter was really fabulous because it was creative and had lots of information about my pen pal.” Darren 4/5FA

“I felt really good reading my letter because it was really great to learn about my pen pal and what they do in their free time. Mrs Marinelli also got a letter from the teacher at Lock Area School.” Oscar 5/6MG

“I have never had a pen pal before so I felt really excited to see the letter and read about what my pen pal does and what he likes.” Marina 5/6JC

“My pen pal is so interesting. She lives on a farm with so many different animals.” Lucy 4/5TR
