Catholic Education Week

Our school, along with the 44 other Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sale, will celebrate Catholic Education Week from 21 to 28 May.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is Faith in the Future - I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. As Catholic schools, we are called to do more than just pass on the faith: we are invited to translate our faith into deeds so we are truly living God’s Word. Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for all Catholic schools to celebrate our distinctive mission and share features that are special about our schools.

About the logo

The Christian cross is the central element of the logo and represents the faith dimension of Catholic schools and our mission of service in Christ. The Southern Cross and outline of Australia represents the Great South Land of Australia. Dots are used as a key design element connecting to the traditional custodians of the land – the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The colours – burnt red and yellow – represent the desert in the heart of the Australian outback, contrasting with the deep blue representing the Southern sky and ocean surrounding our continent.

Sacrament of Confirmation

A few very important announcements are shared with you regarding the Confirmation Ceremonies.

Please note the following dates in your diary:

  •  Confirmation Retreat Day                                                                                              Wednesday 2nd June at St Agatha’s (8:00am - 2:45pm)

Due to compliance with ongoing COVID restrictions regarding the capacity of people in the church at a given time, Father Joseph has co-ordinated specific numbers for family members who will be able to attend Confirmation Ceremonies in the church.

Saturday 5th June 2:00pm

7 family members including the Confirmation Candidate

Saturday 5th June 6:00pm (regular Parish Mass)

5 family members including the Confirmation Candidate

Sunday 6th June 10:45am (regular Parish Mass)

5 family members including the Confirmation Candidate

Sunday 6th June 2:00pm

7 family members including the Confirmation Candidate

Additional family members attending any of the Masses will need to watch the Mass live streamed in adjacent halls and will not be able to enter the church due to COVID restrictions.

At the Parent Workshop, you have indicated which Mass you wish to attend. However, due to capacity considerations, Father Joseph is encouraging families to change their preference, only if possible, to one of the 2:00pm Masses, due to the fact that parishioners will not be attending the 2:00pm Masses and more family members may attend.

What actions to take:

Please register by going to the St Agatha’s Parish website to finalise Confirmation Ceremony bookings for your family. All members of the family attending (including those who will watch live streaming will need to register their names).

Bookings open Sunday 30th May at midday, to register all your family for a Confirmation Mass.

Please contact the parish office on 59961985 if you have any questions.

Grow in gratitude and empathy.
