Dear Families,

Family Conferences

Thank you everyone for your participation in our Family Conferences this week. It is such a wonderful way to discuss with your child the successes they have had at school and what they would like to focus on for the rest of the year.

Future Plans

Each year schools budget for different projects to occur, which are part of a list we would like to see happen in the future.  Below is a wish list of what we would like to do moving forward.  Of course some can be achieved quickly (COVID dependant) and some are long term plans

  • Sensory Garden - to be at the front of the school on Albert Street, with a pathway made from bricks with names of families from the school - Hopefully this will be started late Term 3 of early Term 4 when we have the bricks delivered from our fundraiser we have planned for next term.  This will be done in conjunction with a working bee.
  • Moving the sandpit from its current spot to around the cubby area. We were going to put a shade sail up over the sandpit in its current location but we have underground services running along side it and our posts would have had to  been placed in the grassed area (OH&S issues).
  • Cubby house renovations - started
  • Bike shed - update
  • Landscape between the basketball courts and the fence line - our aim is Term 3 in conjunction with a working bee.
  • Purchasing some stand alone play equipment to be placed where the current sandpit is.
  • Develop a new masterplan to build a second storey in the 3/4 hub and make the downstairs area a wellbeing/sustainability centre

St Vincent de Paul Winter Food Drive

On Thursday 24th June, the children can wear casual clothes and bring a donation for St Vincent de Paul.  The shelves are running very low at St. Brigid's Church and they are in desperate need of pasta, pasta sauce and toiletries.  We as a community are so very generous whenever Barry from St Vincent de Paul calls for our help and we extend our thanks to you for your generosity!  Donations can be brought in anytime between now and Thursday 24th of June.  Please check the use by date on any products that you bring in.

Covid19

Please read the update below from Jim Miles (Executive Director) regarding the roll back of restrictions.   This was issued yesterday, and we await the updated Schools Operations Guide, which we haven't received at the time of this newsletters publication.

Dear Principal

Acting Premier James Merlino has announced a further reduction in coronavirus restrictions that will apply from 11.59 pm on Thursday 17 June.

The changes will include:

  • the 25 km travel limit will be removed
  • travel between metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria will be permitted
  • masks will no longer be required outdoors except where unable to socially distance, but are still required indoors.

There will still be some differences between regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne.

Further information, including an updated School Operations Guide, will be provided when advice is received from the Victorian Government.

Thank you for everything you are doing to keep our school communities safe.

Yours sincerely

Jim Miles

Executive Director

Our School Operations Guide update generally comes out within 24 hours of the announcement so I will send out any changes to our current guidelines via Skoolbag as soon as I have the information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Yours in partnership
