Junior Sport

Round 7 of the Junior School Winter Sport season was a closely contested affair. Against quality opposition, the boys from SPC had to dig deep and hold their nerve. There were many close scores across all codes, with many results falling in favour of St Pat’s. The boys have earnt themselves a good rest as we enter the long weekend and mid-year break. A reminder that Round 8 will be contested on Saturday July 17, and training will start on Wednesday of Week 1 in Term 3, as Monday 12 July is a pupil free day at the College.

This week we had several boys trial for the NSWCIS Touch Football team. The standard on the day was very high and all the boys trialed well. Congratulations to Zac Bechara of Year 6 on his selection to the CIS side. This is Zac’s third CIS team selection (Rugby Union, Rugby League and Touch Football). An amazing effort!

The Junior School House Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday 17 June. We look forward to welcoming parent/carer spectators to the event. Please make sure you scan the QR codes at the gates and distance yourselves appropriately when seated along the benches on the Fraser Street side of Breen Oval. There is to be no mingling of students and parents/carers during the carnival please.

I would like to wish the boys running in the Waterford Mile on Founder’s Day this Friday 11 June all the best. It is a great handicap race, which gives all competitors a chance to cross the line first. I know all boys will do the Junior School proud, no matter where they finish.
