One Punch - Pat Cronin Foundation  

John from the Foundation spoke to all Year 10's about the story of Pat Cronin who was killed by a coward punch on a night out with mates in 2016. He spoke to students about ways of de-escalating situations and looking after your mates. These included the use of humour, walking away and identifying cameras.

House Leaders at Edgars Creek Primary School

One representative of our Year 10 House Leaders Batool, Layne, Josh and Jovan presented their primary school counterparts with their House Badges in front of a whole school assembly with parents and teachers present last Friday. We were privileged to be part of the ceremony, witnessing enthusiastic singing of the national anthem and great student leadership.

We hope to work closely with the primary school students in the near future to run lunchtime activities. Currently our house leaders are working together to organise activities for our Year 7 students.

Other Year 10 House Leaders - Shahd, Tulha, Fateh and Ryan are working to develop a lunchtime soccer competition, art club and make-up activities. More news to follow.

Elevate & Exams

All Year 10 students participated in Study Skills sessions run by Elevate students. Elevate Coaching develops techniques in Time Management, Motivation, Growth Mindset, Stress Management, and Exams. Our coaches provided students with information to re-shape their attitude and forge new habits that are modelled on the very habits used by past top students. We anticipate students putting these into practice in preparation for Year 10 Exams running in the last week of term - 21st June. All core subjects will be tested.

The Formal & Fundraising

The Year 10 Formal Team have been working hard preparing for the event on the last day of the term - Friday 25th June. Payments need to be made by 11th June. Payment plans are available - speak to Vanessa in the office. Cost $ 100 for a 3 course meal, music, photo-booth and more. We are fundraising to support this event with the assistance of Maria, Trish & Sara. Casual clothes day and sausage sizzle June 11th. We will be cooking beef, chicken and vegetarian sausages (all Halal) and drinks. Speak to Ramy, Aleyna, Guled, Gwain, Gracy and Emelia for more information.
