Middle School Report

We have had a busy term and many more activities to come. NAPLAN went very well and we would like to thank year 7 and 9  students for their ability to remain focused and quiet during  testing.

Thank you to all of the parents who continue to support their child to wear the correct uniform to school. As we head into winter it is important that students do not wear hoodies or leggings to school.

Year 7 Update:

Term two has been a busy one so far for our Year Seven students. They have gotten their locks and lockers, started a new term-based subject, completed their NAPLAN and have been involved in new sporting opportunities, all while continuing their learning and development in each of their subjects!

Our Year Seven House Leaders have been busy organising a range of fun clubs to keep our students entertained during lunch times such as Teacher vs Student and Student vs Student sport activities, Art Club and Games Club. We have also organised some fun house competitions such as House Trivia and an upcoming Handball Tournament. It has been great to see our leaders strengthening their leadership skills as well as students engaging in activities that are aimed to build relationships and foster a positive school culture.

“We have been planning a house trivia. We worked collaboratively to come up with questions for our chosen topics. Some of the topics are Countries, Anime, Sport and TV Shows. We will be taking suggestions from the school on what house events to run next!”

  • House Leader of Wollert, Hemal Sharma 7B

Year Sevens also have some exciting things to look forward to such as special guest speakers from the Pat Cronin Foundation on the impact of violence, Project Rockit which focuses on (cyber)bullying and the Whittlesea Tech Design Challenge.

We look forward to seeing our Year Sevens continue to develop and experience new and exciting things over the remainder of the term and moving into the second half of the year.

We thank you for your ongoing support.

Year 7 Coordinator

Year 8 Update:

Term 2 has been off to a fantastic start. Thank you to all Year 8s for continuing to demonstrate our school values and embracing our weekly SWPB foci. It has been wonderful to see such positivity and initiative. We have had a busy term so far, with a lot more still to come.

Camp was one of the milestones of this term, with students engaged, and willing to give all activities a go. It was wonderful to see teachers and students strengthening their relationships and challenging themselves by immersing themselves into a wide range of activities such as; high ropes, leap of faith, bike riding, raft building, canoeing and archery.

Thank you to all students who participated, and we hope to see the same level of energy and enthusiasm with our upcoming events.

8C and 8D students will be going into our local primary school ECPS, to help their Prep students as part of our Community Project and Leadership subject. Students who were involved in the program last term commented on how participation enriched their sense of purpose and leadership skills and we hope this continues this term.

Thank you to all students who have continued to achieve their best.

Year 8 Coordinator

Year 9 Update:

Year 9 students have shown a real commitment to their learning this term. They are demonstrating more confidence in the different concepts being taught across core subject and selectives.

9A, 9F and 9G had the opportunity to meet Abdi Aiden, a motivational speaker who shared his journey from leaving war torn Somalia as a teenager to today.

As part of the Cooking for the Community Project 9A have cooked Mac and Cheese and 9B will be making Minestrone Soup once they return to the College from Remote learning. This is a great opportunity to support people within the Whittlesea community who cannot afford to buy food.

Well done Year 9 for stepping up and supporting those less fortunate.

Coming up, Year 9 will participate in the Rewrite program and listen to guest speakers from the Pat Cronin Foundation
