Working Parts Gallery
On the 15th of May the Working Parts Gallery Committee, Deadly Sista Girlz and a group of year 9 Art students were lucky enough to visit the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. Students viewed the exhibition Yhonnie Scarce: Missile Park and undertook a STEM in ART program led by ACCA educators!
Through this exhibition, students learnt about how this Nukunu and Kokatha artist explores connection to Country, the role of family, ancestry, legacy and memorialisation, Indigenous ecological perspectives, and the importance of bush foods as symbol and sustenance.
Students will be responding to this exhibition as part of their art electives or extracurricular activities. We can’t wait to see what they create!
